Retiree Email

Body

Starting in September 2025, the University is offering an optional email service for retired employees. Retiring employees may now opt in to having access to a university issued email. It does not include Microsoft Office Products and is limited to only email. The Retiree Email Service will also grant access to some Library resources.

  • To opt in to the retiree email, please make sure to notify HR that you would like to opt in during your Retirement Planning Conversations.
  • HR will notify Application Services.
  • Application Services will create a new University email that the requester will be given access to.
    • You will not be able to keep your original university email.
  • A yearly confirmation is required to continue the service. Reminders will be emailed and sent out during the summer. Confirmation must be given by September 1st
  • If an email account is inactive or not confirmed for two consecutive years, the email account will be flagged for deletion and the service will be revoked. Deleted email accounts are not recoverable.
  • You may also request to terminate your email service at any time.
  • The email is subject to all University security measures, as well as state, system, and campus laws, regulations, policies and procedures. This means your email could still be requested as part of a Freedom of Information request.
