How to scan and save to USB

Body

  1. Place document in the feeder tray (facing upwards) or on the glass.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  2. Log in using your ID badge or by entering the credentials you use for logging into your computer
  3. Insert USB device – the USB slot is located on the right side of the copier control panel.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  4. Select the blue “Advanced Scan - To USB” button on the screen.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  5. Select “Store File”.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  6. Adjust the settings for the document, by selecting from the buttons and tabs.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  7. To name the file, go “Functions”.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  8. Use the arrow buttons to go to the second page of options and select “File Name Entry”.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  9. Type in the name for the file. By default, the Job No and Date and Time will be added to the name. You can “turn off” these additions by touching each button. Then press “OK”.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  10. Once you are finished with adjusting settings and naming file, press Start.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  11. Once you are finished with scanning, select “Remove USB Drive”. This step is critical to save the file to the USB.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  12. Wait until you receive the message informing you that the USB can be removed and then remove the device.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
     
  13. Press “Logout” when done.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

***NOTE: it is against university policy to store University data on a jump drive because it is not secure. The recommended method is to scan to the V Drive.

Other notes about scanning to USB:

You can also choose to scan to an existing folder on the USB or create an entirely new folder. To scan to an existing folder, select the folder from the list and “open”. Then follow the steps above to scan and save the file.

If you want to create a new folder, you can choose “Add a new folder” and then follow the steps to name the folder and then scan and store the document.
