UHV to TAMUV Email transition

IT will be transitioning university emails in two waves.

Phase 2 will include executive committee, public facing departments, and all departments under Enrollment Management. Phase 2 will occur late on April 28th. Some users may see some changes early, but majority of it will occur during off hours. On April 29th, changes should be complete. 

The rest of the university, including students, will occur on the weekend of graduation. To make changes to these users early will cause a disconnect with CTAP and may negatively impact their ability to teach or complete class.

Once the change has been  completed, users will then be able to login to their University account with '@tamuv.edu' and will be able to send out email AS @'tamuv.edu' .

Logging in will remain the same. Students will continue to login with StudentID@tamuv.edu, employees will login with username@tamuv.edu unless. Logging in to computers will be JUST your student ID or username. 

 

IT Notes:

* Outlook in the web updates faster and will see your @tamuv.edu email address sooner.

* Mobile clients take longer, but should update overnight. To help speed this along, you can log out and log back in with the updated email. 

* It will take time for everything to sync up. 

* If you receive a bounce back from an email recipient you typically email, please first call and verify they did not receive the email. If they did not, forward it to IT with the user's contact information AND/OR their IT department's information
