There are two ways to find the name of your computer.
1. IT names all University computers based on the property tag number.
- Property tags can be found:
- Laptops - on the top of the lid under the logo
- All in ones - on the back of the computer, upper corner
- Towers - At the top of the device, near the serial number.
- Once the tag is found, remove any leading 0s and add a 'v' to the front.
Example: Tag is 012345. The name would be v12345
2. If you're having trouble reaching the back of the computer to locate the property tag:
- Right-click your Windows start button
- Left-click on System
- The device name is listed under Device Specifications
