How to Reset or Delete Mac Keychain

Mac keychain pops up constantly and does not accept the user's password. Prevents general login to applications.

Try one of these options:

1. Reset the keychain with the Keychain Repair tool.
   • Open the Keychain Access app in Applications.
   • From the Keychain Access menu on the top left, select Settings.
   • Click Reset My Default Keychain.
   • Authenticate with your account login password. Click on the lock to save it, quit Keychain Access, and restart your computer.
2. Manually refresh the keychain.
   1. Click Go in the top menu bar and choose Go to Folder...
   2. Type ~\library\Keychains
   3. Drag the contents into the Mac trash.
   4. Restart the computer and login normally. The keychain will rebuild.

Mac Keychain is out of sync with the user's account.
